Description
Glentauchers was founded in 1898 as a joint venture between James Buchanan the creator of Black & White and Buchanans blended whskies and WP Lowrie. The distillery was designed by local architect John Alcock. The distillery is currently owned by the Allied Distillers and the majority of the spirit goes into the blended Scotch whiskies. 43% ABV Gordon & MacPhail are one of the biggest and oldest independent bottlers in Scotland and have been a family run business since 1895. They source the best barrels on the market to age the spirit from various distilleries and all of their offerings are of tremendous quality never chill-filtered and no caramel color added. They are also owners of the Benromach distillery the smallest distillery in Speyside but one that is famous for producing one of the best artisan single malt Scotch whiskys. Glentauchers 16yr was matured in refill sherry hogsheads for 16 years and bottled at 43% alc/vol. It is a part of the Distillery Lab
